Sappenfield Construction’s Home Renovation Terms and Conditions

1. Scope of Work:
1.1. The Contractor agrees to provide home renovation services as outlined in the attached project proposal.

2. Payment Terms:
2.1. The Client agrees to pay 50% of the total project cost as an upfront deposit before the commencement of work.
2.2. Progress payments will be invoiced at specific milestones outlined in the project proposal.
2.3. Final payment is due upon completion of the project.

3. Changes to Scope:
3.1. Any changes to the original scope of work must be agreed upon in writing by both parties.
3.2. Additional costs resulting from changes to the scope will be added to the total project cost.

4. Timeline:
4.1. The Contractor will make reasonable efforts to complete the project within the agreed-upon timeline.
4.2. Delays caused by unforeseen circumstances may extend the completion date, and the Contractor will communicate any changes promptly.

5. Permits and Approvals:
5.1. The Contractor is responsible for obtaining all necessary permits and approvals required for the project.
5.2. The Client will cooperate and provide any necessary information or documentation to facilitate the permit application process.

6. Insurance:
6.1. The Contractor agrees to maintain appropriate insurance coverage.
6.2. The Client is responsible for maintaining the homeowner’s insurance coverage during the renovation.

7. Warranties:
7.1. The Contractor warrants that all work will be performed in a workmanlike manner and in accordance with industry standards.
7.2. The Contractor provides a [X]-year warranty on workmanship.

8. Termination:
8.1. Either party may terminate the agreement with written notice if the other party breaches any material term of the contract.
8.2. In the event of termination, the Client is responsible for paying for any completed work and related expenses.

9. Dispute Resolution:
9.1. Any disputes that arise out of or in connection with this agreement will be resolved through mediation or arbitration in accordance with the jurisdiction’s laws.

10. Confidentiality:
10.1. Both parties agree to keep all project-related information confidential.

11. Force Majeure:
11.1. Neither party will be held liable for any delay or failure to perform its obligations due to circumstances beyond their reasonable control.

12. Entire Agreement:
12.1. This agreement constitutes the entire understanding between the parties and supersedes any prior agreements or understandings.
